Mr Olusegun Adeyemi, Director, National Orientation Agency (NOA), Kwara, has appealed to parents to register their children with the National Identity Card Management Commission (NIMC) office, using birthday certificates.
Adeyemi, who made the call while speaking with newsmen on Thursday in Ilorin, explained that the exercise is meant for all children below 17 years of age.
The director urged parents to key into the exercise forthwith, saying the registrants’ bio data as compiled by the NIMC would in nearest future ease the problem of acquiring national identity cards for various purposes.
He emphasised the importance of collating accurate statistics to National Planning and all-inclusive development, urging everybody to participate fully in the exercise.
Adeyemi also called on Nigerians to always support government programmes at all times as a mark of patriotism.(NAN)
