NMA assures Ondo health commissioner of support

 The Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) in Ondo State has assured the state Commissioner for Health, Dr Banji Ajaka, of its total and unflinching support for his success in office.

Dr Stella Adegbehingbe, the Chairman of NMA in the state, made the promise when she led the executive members of the association on a courtesy visit to the commissioner in Akure on Friday.

Adegbehingbe said that the association came to congratulate the commissioner on his new appointment.

She promised to collaborate with the commissioner in the task of moving the state’s health sector forward.

The NMA chairman described Ajaka as a prominent member of NMA whom the association was proud of.

She noted that in view of the commissioner’s sterling antecedents in public service, medical doctors in the state were optimistic of his ability to move the sector forward.

Adegbehingbe wished the commissioner and the Special Adviser to the Governor on Health, Prof. Dayo Faduyile, success in their new assignments.

She urged them to adopt an open door policy and carry medical doctors  along in health activities in the state.

She also commended the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Mrs Folukemi Aladenola and all directors in the ministry for their impactful contributions to qualitative healthcare delivery in the state.

Aladenola noted that the sector had continued to enjoy robust support and relationship with NMA.

She described Adegbehingbe as a leader per excellence who had passion for the sector, noting that through her intervention, several issues facing the sector had been amicably resolved.

Faduyile commended NMA, urging it to redouble its efforts in promoting healthcare delivery in the state.

He described Ajaka as an experienced medical practitioner and administrator with exemplary leadership qualities.

Responding, Ajaka appreciated the association and called for better collaboration among all stakeholders in the sector, saying the overall goal was to take the sector to greater heights.

The commissioner urged  all health workers to see the sector as one big family.

He implored members of the various professional associations in the sector to see themselves as colleagues and friends toward achieving higher productivity.

Ajaka also assured medical doctors of synergy and unflinching support. (NAN)
