Nigerien President Commends Nigeria’s Peaceful Election

President Muhammadou Isoufou of Niger Republic has expressed his delight for the cordial relationship that exists between his country and Nigeria.

President Isoufou dispatched a 15-man delegation, led by the Majority Leader of the Nigerien National Assembly, Zakari Umar to Sokoto on Sunday to extend his congratulatory message to President-elect, Muhammadu Buhari through Governor Aliyu Wamakko.

“The citizens of Niger Republic were happy with the peaceful conduct of the 2015 general elections in Nigeria,” Isoufou said adding, “We were all concerned before the polls on how they were going to turn out, but all Nigeriens were happy with the peaceful nature of the elections.”

Governor Wamakko commended Isoufou for the delegation, saying:”Nigeria and Niger have excellent relations for decades and have been brothers and sisters.”

In another development, Wamakko received the state executives of the All Progressives congress (APC) who went to congratulate him at his residence.

Led by the Zonal Vice Chairman of Sokoto Central Zone of the APC who represented the State acting chairman  of the party, Alhaji Usman Danmadamin-Isa, said that they were there to recognize Wamakko’s contributions to the success of the party at the just-concluded polls.

Responding, Wamakko said that the success was collective efforts of all.
