Medview aircraft makes air return over false fire alarm

A Medview Airline flight 2102 departing Lagos to Abuja made an air return to the airport on Saturday shortly after take off resulting from a false smoke alarm at 9:12 am .

The Captain thereafter informed the Control Tower of this development and came back to land immediately.

The Boeing 734 aircraft marked 5NBPB with 99 passengers and 5 crew onboard landed at the Lagos airport safely at 9:17am on Runway18Left.

All the passengers safely disembarked following the deployment of the emergency slides .

Commenting on the incident The managing director of the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) Engr. Ibrahim Abdulsalam gave kudos to the duty controller for responding promptly to the request of the pilot,promising that the agency would not relent in its drive of ensuring air safety in the country.
