Maku Condoles With Unijos Community,Others Over Ex Dean’s Death

Labaran-Maku 600Information Minister Mr. Labaran Maku has condoled the University of Jos community, Nasarawa State and the family of Mr. Andzayi Haruna over the death of his wife, Professor Charity Andzayi, a former Dean of the Faculty of Education, University of Jos.
Speaking in Jos, Plateau State during a condolence visit to the family of the deceased, Mr. Maku said he received the news of the sudden death of Professor Charity with shock and described her demise as a huge loss to the academia, the womenfolk and the Eggon community of Nasarawa State.
The Information Minister, who was a course-mate of the Late Professor Charity in the University of Jos, said she was exceptionally brilliant and talented as evidenced in the speed with which she became a professor.
“She was really talented, very sound. Her agenda was to excel and that’s what she did all through. We received this news with a lot of shock because in the University of Jos, she was one of the stars and in the entire academics, she’s one of the stars that we have – the first woman professor in our community with the PhD. The rapidity with which she rose, clearly showed that she was not only valued in the community but everywhere. She then became the Dean of the Faculty of Education and successfully served her tenure”, he stated.
Mr. Maku said the Late Professor Charity committed herself to the educational development of the physically challenged persons and impacted on the community through her philanthropy, scholarship and literary works.
The Minister stated that the deceased lived a fulfilled life of service and left behind a legacy that would guide her children to excel in life.
He prayed God to repose her soul and comfort her family and the University of Jos and give them the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
Responding, the husband of the deceased, Mr. Andzayi Haruna, who thanked the Minister for his show of love, care and concern, said the death of Professor Charity was painful but the family was consoled by the fact that it was the will of God.
