In the death of Alhaji Lam Adesina, Nigeria has lost a forthright politician and tireless fighter for a better and equitable society. Former governor of Ogun State Otunba Gbenga Daniel stated this while reacting to the demise of the former governor of Oyo State who passed on at the age of 73 last Sunday. Otunba Daniel said Alhaji Adesina was a detribalized Nigerian who was committed to the development of the nation in all capabilities that he had the opportunity to serve his people and country during his sojourn on earth. He said as governor of Oyo State Alhaji Adesina walked his talk by serving with commitment and his contributions to the development of the state would remain indelible.
“We have lost a patriot and peace builder who was also an advocate of good governance and democracy. He was one of those in the forefront of getting a better deal for the people of Nigeria and he was also a firm believer and advocate of deepening democracy through fiscal federalism. He was a tenacious believer in the fine ideals of democracy and good governance and he remained committed to these ideals until the very end. This is certainly an irreparable loss. I enjoin his family, friends and the government and people of Oyo State to take solace in the fact that he left behind a worthy legacy worthy of emulation,” Otunba Daniel said
Otunba Daniel also prayed for the repose of his soul and for God to grant his family friends and associates the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
