“We earnestly thank Nigerians for the outpouring of grief, prayers and concerns since the occurrence of this accident. It is a devastating tragedy that calls for soul searching and fervent prayers to the Almighty God.
“However, we wish to assure Nigerians of the ability and expertise of the aviation authority as presently constituted to unravel the cause of the accident as well as to ensure maximum safety in the nation’s airspace.
“A lot of advancements have been made in the aviation sector under this administration and we are confident that this accident will not constitute a set-back to the progress so far achieved.
“While it is noted that air crashes occur all over the world, the party expect the aviation authorities to maximize the innovations so far initiated and implemented in the sector to ensure that we achieved maximum safety rate in the industry.
“We expect the aviation authorities to live up to their billing and not be deterred by the accident. The safety of Nigerians must be paramount at all times and must not be compromised in any way,” the statement said.
