Labour Party governorship candidate in Kwara state, Comrade Issa Aremu mni has fulfilled his party’s pledge to vote for All Progressives Cingress (APC) Presidential candidate, President Muhammadu Buhari, as President Buhari today recorded a clean sweep in ward, Baboko ward, in Ilorin West local government area of the state.
Comerade Aremu who equally delivered his Alapata Polling unit in Baboko ward where he cast his vote for President Buhari, expressed joy over the large turnout of members and supporters of labour party who voted massively and joyfully for President Buhari.
He said the impressive turnout of people of his ward confirmed that members of the labour party are very much concerned about the victory of President Buhari because of his labour friendly policies and programmes.
Comrade Aremu however, commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in the state for the smooth conduct of today’s general elections, just as he charged the commission to ensure that the results of today’s polls reflect the wishes of the people.
Comrade Aremu said the commission’s performance was highly commendable especially in the area of communication network in addressing some of the problems earlier detected at the various polling units. He also commended security agents for providing adequate security network during the polls.
The governorship hopeful, who cast his vote alongside with his wife, Hajia Khadijat Aremu, expressed dissatisfaction over the late arrival of election materials and the earlier failure of the card readers in some polling units but thanked Mallam Attahiru Madami led INEC in the state for swiftly responding and fixing some of the challenges earlier encountered.
He urged the INEC to learn from its past mistakes and ensure that INEC officials and election materials arrive the polling units at the appropriate time in the next elections.
