Kano loses 12 lives, N17.6m property in April — Fire Service

The Kano State Fire Service says 12 lives were lost and worth N17.6 million were destroyed fire incidents recorded the state April.

Saminu Abdullahi, Public Relations Officer the Service, gave the figures a statement on Tuesday Kano.

He, however, said that scores lives and worth N423 million were saved within the period .

“The Service responded to 73 rescue calls and 14 false alarms from residents the state,” he added.

Abdullahi attributed most of the fire incidents to road accidents, careless handling of cooking gas and use of inferior electrical appliances.

He advised residents to always caution and handle fire to prevent outbreaks. (NAN)
