Human Rights Abuse: Nigeria UPR Media Network Inaugurated In Port Harcourt

As part of effort to checkmate human rights abuse, the Niger Delta Universal Periodic Review Coalition [NDUPRC] has set up and inaugurated a body called “Nigeria UPR Media Network’’

During its election at the Weekend in Port Harcourt, Pius Diko, News writer was elected as the Convener, Darlington Amaname, Secretary, Radio Rivers, and Chimex Ndubusi, Love FM, Public Relations Officer.

Responding the Port Harcourt Convener, Mr. Pius Diko said he would use the confidence reposed in him to carry human rights matter to greater heights  in the State.

Mr. Diko assured members that the state human rights body would do everything within its jurisdiction to take care of every abuse concerning de-humanization  of individuals in the society.

He further said  that the Nigeria UPR Media Network would go to the nook and cranny of the Niger Delta region and beyond as part of its campaign.

Earlier, the National Coordinator of NDUPRC, Legborsi  Saro Pyagbara thanked members for coming together to fight human rights abuse  that is  messing up the society.On the demolition of Water Front in the metropolis, he pointed out that it is the duty of government to protect its citizens.

Mr. Saro Pyagbara added  that in other countries, before government ejects  tenants or landlord, better accommodation is  already  provided for its residents.
