A day after the deadly Easter Day bomb blast in Kaduna ,the Joint Military Taskforce ,JTF in Kano successfully defused a powerful Improvised Explosive Device, IED, which was found in an abandoned vehicle.The bomb-laden vehicle was left close to a military check point reports said .Officials said it was the vigilance of the security personnel that averted another blast.
Before the bomb was defused security operatives earlier in the day said they had uncovered an attempt by Boko Haram sect to set off another bomb in Kano today .
And ,in what appeared like a pre-emptive security measure aimed at saving lives, JTF equally day a statement announcing it had found a car, laden with explosives on Zaria Road area ,an announcement which was taken as a warning to travellers along the road to beware.
The JTF statement was repeated on radio stations in Kano and there was evident unease in the city.
Despite the security alert before the Easter, a bomb exploded in Kaduna, killing about 40 people Several others were wounded.
