#TrackNigeria: Ambassador Hillary Emoh, Country Director, World Habitat Ambassador Foundation, also the Founder, Leasers Without Boarders Development Center, has underscored the need for youth inclusiveness in governance for a sustainable development of the country.
Emoh, made the call in an interview with Newsmen during the 6th World Habitat Leadership Conference and Honours Award, held in Abuja on Saturday.
According to him, the conference, with the theme titled, “Effective Leadership; Its Role in Ensuring and Securing A Sustainable Habitat” is aimed at addressing issues concerning the Human Habitat.
“The youths are the leaders of tomorrow” hence, the need to involve them in leadership process was key for a sustainable development for any country in the world.
“I will want to advice that the youths should be more involved in leadership process and matters that affect the youths in the country.
“If the youths don’t get involved, especially in leadership affairs of a country, their is no way we will be able to repair the continent.
“The essence of this leadership conference, is to inform our leaders that they need to allow the youths to be involved in some of the matters that affect the nation,” Emoh said.
However, he, called on Nigerian youths to embrace peace and shun any form of violence capable of bringing and causing conflict, for the development of the country.
The ambassador, also called on the Federal Government to set up policies that would address issues of climate change in the country for a cleaner habitat and a safe planet.
Nonetheless, he observed that a sustainable habitat was designed to have all the basic amenities of life to guarantee peace and security for the good of mankind.
“There is need to foster deeper understanding of the precarious issues confronting the human habitat in particular, and the ecosystem in general.
“The impact and consequences of conflict and absence of peace, security and development has brought loss in socio-economic and political diversity,” he said.
