Gunmen Kill 30 Adamawa Indigenes in Borno

The Director Press and Public Affairs to Governor Murtala Nyako, Alh. Sajo Ahmed has confirmed that some Adamawa indigenes from Michika Local government who went for a wedding Fatiha in Borno State were Killed in an attack at Firgu Village in Borno.Reports put the casualty figure at 30.

Sajo added that the attack did not happen in Adamawa State, but that indigenes of the state were indeed victims of the attack.
He spoke as part of the spirited clarifications by officials after reports that the victims were killed in Michika, Adamawa State.Government, Sajo said, hoped that the reports were not sponsored in order to canvass an extension of emergency rule in Adamawa State.

Also speaking on the incident,the Commander of Special Military Operation Unit Mubi, in Adamawa State, Lt-Colonel Martins Beyidi Gurama refuted media report that thirty (30) people were killed in Michika over the weekend.

His reaction followed report in some sections of the media that the dreaded Boko Haram sect killed over 30 persons in Michika and its environs following an attack.

“There was no attack in Michika. The information is incorrect” Colonel Beyidi stated.
