A statement by the organization said “The manner of his death is difficult to comprehend let alone experience. It was crude, evil, and gruesome. We in the (CFN) join other well-meaning Nigerians and organisations in out-rightly condemning the dastardly attack. Knowing the British Police for its efficiency and its Justice system for its effectiveness, the cowards who perpetuated this crime should be made to face the full brunt of the law and speedily too.
“We equally believe that the investigation would be widened to find out if there are others, linked to this appalling and abominable act and to make sure that they are all apprehended and brought to justice.
Ephraim EmenanjoAdinlofu (Europe Coordinatora and AkintokunboAdejumo (Global Coordinator) who signed the statement said “Most Nigerians in the UK are law abiding; are working hard and, are successful in their various fields of endeavour. They are contributing solidly to the British economy and society. This act should not be made to deter them. They should go about their normal businesses. Granted that those who committed this grisly murder were of Nigerian descent, this does not remove the fact, as the British Press had painted, that they were clearly British citizens. They are!
“The Champions For Nigeria will equally like to advise at this juncture that parents should always make extra efforts to keep abreast with their wards, know their friends and know their whereabouts. We should not allow too much liberty to override the senses of our children. We should advance different methodologies in checking their excesses before they go completely astray.
“Once more, we condemn in the strongest term, this awful act. We commiserate with the family of Drummer Lee Rigby, his regiment, and the British government. There is no doubt that the young man had a bright future and died in active service. May his soul, rest in peace. Amen”, the statement said.
