Grammy Awards: Moghalu hails Burna Boy, Wizkid, says artistes make Nigeria proud

 Prof. Kingsley Moghalu, a former Presidential Candidate of the Young Progressives Party (YPP), on Monday joined other Nigerians and Africans in celebrating Nigerian Afrobeat stars: Burna Boy and Wizkid for clinching 2021 Grammy Music Awards.

Moghalu, in a statement in Lagos, commended the artistes for their feats at the just concluded Grammy-award event on Saturday in the US.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Burna Boy, (Damini Ogulu) a 29-year-old Nigerian artiste, who was nominated for the second consecutive year, won the Best Global Music Album category with his `Twice As Tall’ album.

He defeated four other nominees.

Also, Wizkid (Ayodeji Balogun), a 30-year-old Nigerian artiste, won the Best Music Video for his song with Beyoncé; Brown Skin Girl, from Lion King: The Gift album.

The 63rd edition of the Grammy Awards, which was held in Los Angeles, USA, is often described as “music’s biggest night”.

Reacting, Moghalu said: “Burna Boy and Wizkid have made Nigeria and Africa proud.

“This honour shows the level of talents the youth in Nigeria have. I believe others will look at this and draw motivation to strive to be the best in every area of their endeavours.” (NAN)
