Gov. Wada stops convoy, attends to accident victims along Kotonkarfe-Abuja Road

Governor Idris Wada of Kogi  state on Sunday broke his protocol and stopped his convoy to attend to accident victims personally along Kotonkarfe-Abuja expressway. The governor who was returning to Lokoja, the Kogi Capital, ordered his convoy to stop to attend to victims of an accident involving a tailer and two 18-Seater Hiace Buses traveling from Lagos to Lafia.

A statement from Lugard House signed by Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Startegy, Jacob Edi, said the governor dropped off his official car and ran across the road to give a helping hand to the victims and promptly used his mobile phone to call officials of  the Federal Road Safety Commission who arrived the scene within a short time.

The statement added that Governor Wada who was  moved by the fatality of the accidentsaid he will pick the medical bills of the victims who sustained various degrees of injury.No fewer than 3 people are feared dead in the accident while several others were rush to the intensive car unit of the Federal Medical Center in Lokoja. Governor Wada commended officials of the FRSC for the professional way they handled the accident .He equally sympathized with victims of the accident.
