As part of efforts aimed at enhancing delivery of service to the citizenry, Kano state government will soon rationalize Ministries and other agencies in the state.
The state governor, Dr. Abdullhai Umar Ganduje who announced this shortly after the swearing in ceremony of the Secretary to the State Government, Alh. Rabi’u Sulaman Bichi on Monday assured however, that no civil servant will lose his job in the process.
He said because of dwindling resources, state funds must be utilized properly adding that his administration is determined to save money by reducing the cost of cost of governance and increasing its internally generated revenue.
“We want to have stronger and more viable Ministries and agencies for better service delivery so we must make adjustments by reorganizing the civil service”, the governor stressed.
Turning to the new appointees namely, the Secretary to the State Government, Rabi’u Sulaiman Bichi and the Head of Civil Service Muhammad Auwalu Na’iya, the governor stated that their appointments are purely based on merit.
“The much needed change we are talking about will not be possible unless you put competent people to help you formulate public policies and conduct affairs of the state”, Dr. Ganduje explained.
He, therefore, urged the new appointees to discharge their duties efficiently, appealing to civil servants in the state to cooperate with them towards achieving the set goals of the government.
Dr. Ganduje assured that the his administration will complete all inherited on-going projects and initiate new ones even as he added that priority attention would be given to environmental sanitation in view of its importance in the scheme of things.No tags for this post.
