Residents of Kwaru-Badarawa area of Kaduna state received some unexpected visitors Friday night as armed soldiers stormed residential homes allegedly in search of weapons. Newsdiaryonline.com learnt from some of the residents of Kwaru that the soldiers invaded and ransacked their homes between 10.30 and 11.30pm.
“When we asked they said they were looking for weapons.They ransacked everywhere and found nothing in our house.They asked a few questions and we answered them and they left.They went into virtually every house in our neighbour hood here in Kwaru”,said one of those whose homes were ransacked.
There were unconfirmed reports that some young men were arrested and taken away .Some lucky ones “were released from detention at about 2.00am ” one of those conversant with the search operation in Kwaru-Badarawa told Newsdiaryonline.com.
There has been no official statement on this development.Attempts by Newsdiaryonline.com to reach officials of the state government for comments failed.
This operation came less than a week after a suicide bomber hit St. Rita’s Catholic Church in Angwar Yero in the neighbourhood.
