Ex Gov Muazu Tipped to Replace Tukur

Adamu MuazuThere were indications Monday morning that former Governor Adamu Muazu of Bauchi State may replace Alhaji Bamanga Tukur as national Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.This hint emerged from a meeting in Abuja by president Goodluck Jonathan ,PDP governors and other stakeholders.

It is expected that Muazu will be presented to the party’s National Executive Council , NEC which is scheduled to meet either Monday.Tukur was ousted last week after a protracted battle in his party. It even seemed ,in the end ,he was forced out because it was President Jonathan who announced his resignation at PDP’s NEC meeting last week.

Muazu’s emergence may have been due largely to his experience and connection within the governors’ forum. He was governor while Jonathan too was deputy governor and eventually governor of Bayelsa state. And it had appeared clear that Jonathan, for some time was eager to relate with him, despite corruption allegations Muazu is facing .
