Emir commends INEC, security agencies on peaceful election

#TrackNigeria: Chief Adoga Suleiman, the Emir of Karimo, a suburb community in the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) of the FCT, has commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for conducting a peaceful election in the community.

Suleiman, who made the commendation in an interview after voting on Saturday at the polling unit 18 in Karimo FCT, also commended the security agencies.

According to him, security has always been the major concern during the electoral process.

He said that without adequate security, there won’t be a peaceful environment for people to exercise their franchise.

“The most important thing is that people are happy and the atmosphere is peaceful.

“All the polling centers appeared to be secured and peaceful there is no fear, no threat of violence.

“In spite of the large turnout, voting has been peaceful and we thank INEC and the security for that peaceful conduct,” he said.

He said although the voting did not start on time due to late arrival of the INEC and adhoc officials and also failure of the card reader at some polling units, the process was peaceful and no violence.

He urged the voters to maintain peace even after the result is announced.
Suleiman prayed that the outcome will be the best for the country. (NAN)
