#TrackNigeria: Former Head of State, General Abdulsalam Abubakar has called on contestants to accept the result of the Presidential and National Assembly elections.
Speaking to newsmen after casting his vote at the Hilltop polling center urged the losers to embrace the result to enable peace reign.
According to him, this will ensure there is peace across the state and nation.
He urged them to maintain peace during and after the election.
“I want to appeal to all contestants to know that only one of them will emerge the winner, and whoever emerges the winner I hope the losers will accept.”
He equally appealed to the electorate and party representatives to maintain order while sorting out the results.
In a related development, former governor of Niger State, Dr. Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu said he was Impressed with the massive turnout of electorates across Niger state for the Presidential and National Assembly elections.
He also said he was happy with the peaceful conduct of the election in the state as he noted that no violence have been recorded across the state.
