Eid-El Kabir Celebration:IG Orders ‘Water-Tight Security’,Greets Muslims

Inspector-General of Police, IGP MD Abubakar has directed all Zonal AIGs and Command Commissioners of Police to take adequate measures to ensure the provision of water-tight security across the country before, and after the eid-el kabir .A statement by CSP Frank Mba,deputy force public relations officer  said  commissioners of police ,CPs have been directed to personally, ensure that key and vulnerable points, all places of worship, recreation centres, resorts and other public places are adequately and effectively protected, to enable worshippers and the general public enjoy maximum fulfillment.

In ,  he said ,Commanders of Police Highway Patrol Teams have been directed to ensure that motorized patrols on our highways targeted at crime and accident prevention, are intensified to ensure a safe, secure and peaceful . Police men deployed on our highways have also been directed to render necessary assistance to travelers and road users, especially accident victims and those who might have suffered vehicular break down.


Similarly, Zonal AIGs and CPs have also been advised to ensure the provision of 24hrs security around all government installations, facilities and other vulnerable targets. The IGP warned officers who will be deployed the period, to ensure that they comport themselves within the confines of the law. They must be firm but polite, civil and professional in the discharge of their assigned roles, giving due regard and to the fundamental human rights of citizens at all times.

The statement also said  IG on behalf of the , officers and men of the Nigeria Police Force  extends    hearty greetings to all Muslims , on this year’s Eid-el Kabir coming-up on 25th and 26th October, 2012.

He  expressed  the belief that Almighty Allah will, in infinite mercy and in answer to the fervent prayers of Muslim faithful, resolve the country’s numerous challenges and grant the country’s leaders the wisdom to lead the nation aright.  Also , the IG ,the statement said, the prayers, support and understanding of Nigerians, assuring that by God’s grace, the battle against crime and criminality will eventually be won.
