Edo group endorses Osagie for NDDC Commissioner slot

As the struggle to fill the Edo state slot for Commissioner at the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) heightens, a group, under the aegis of Edo United Front (EUF) and the leadership of the Edo Peoples Democratic Party may have endorsed and settled for the candidature of Mr. Thompson Osagie from Ugboko ward in Orhionmwon Local Government Area of Edo state.

The endorsement of Thompson Osagie is sequel to his unwavering grass-root support for the Peoples Democratic Party in Edo state at the ward, local Government and state level.

Rising from an Executive Council meeting in Benin, the Edo state capital, Edo United Front (EUF) said the endorsement of Mr. Osagie was a welcome development as the party would benefit from the popularity of Osagie who was formerly the Secretary of Orhionmwon Local Government between 2008-2010, Chairman of Secretaries Forum of Edo state and founder of Orhionmwon Youth Development Association, a foremost youth association in Edo state.

Leader of group Barrister Solomon Osahon who spoke to newsmen at the end of the meeting said Mr. Osagie is competent, reliable and tested who commands the respect of Edo Youths, adding that the party hierarchy has made a good choice as the development would propel Edo PDP to greater heights, stressing that Osagie has been a devoted and loyal party man who has enough grass-root base to checkmate opposition.
The group further appeals to President Goodluck Jonathan, not to succumb to the antics of the opposition who in one way or the other has stalled the growth of the Peoples Democratic Party in the state apart from their non-inclusive administration by the All Progressive Congress –led government.
