As part of  what is viewed as his  preparations  to  defect to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP),  the Adamawa State, Governor Mohammed Jibrilla Bindow (APC) of Adamawa State on  Tuesday swore in 50 Area Development Administrators mostly from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.They are being viewed in the state as those who will usher him into PDP.

The Governor subsequently gave them N20, 000 take-off grant for the Development Area Administrators to move back to their localities and commence effective mobilization of the people at the grassroots level.

Bindow also lambasted people who are criticizing his government as drunkards who are shortsighted.

While raising alarm over the PDP dominance in the Development Area Administrators appointment a member of the State House of Assembly, Alh. Rufai Ahmed said Governor Jibrilla was diverting the APC structure to the PDP. He said the Governor should be suspended from the APC before he destroys the party.
But in a swift reaction the state Commissioner for Information and Strategy Comrade Ahmad Sajoh defended the action of the Governor to appoint PDP members in the 50 Development Areas Administrators.

Sajoh said there was  nothing wrong with the Governor to appoint PDP members as Development Area Administrators.

He said the constitution of Nigeria empowers the Governor to appoint only competent people as commissioners or Area Development Administrators who will help him pilot the affairs of the state.

Also supporting the action of the Governor, the state’s Vice Chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Alh. Mohammed Abdullahi said, PDP people are also part and parcel of Adamawa state and they deserved to be appointed into positions in the state government.

He said there was nothing wrong with that development as the Governor wanted  to maintain peace in the state.
