The defunct Congress for Progressives Change (CPC) stakeholders in Adamawa State led by the former chairman of CPC in Adamawa Hon.Ibrahim Bappa Waziri, have denied joining General Buba Marwa in defecting to Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).They announced this at a meeting was attended by defunct CPC stakeholders from the 21 Local Government areas of the state on Wednesday in Yola,
It could be recalled that the former Military Administrator of Lagos and Gubernatorial candidate of defunct CPC in the state in the last general election had on Sunday defected to PDP over alleged marginalization of his people in the state APC.
The former state chairman of the CPC , Alhaji Waziri, said Marwa came to CPC and met them and had defected back to PDP they way he came without them.
Another stakeholder, Engr Suleiman Abdullahi, said they wish Marwa good luck but were concerned about claims that the people in defunct CPC defected along with him.
” We would not have bothered to meet to dissociate ourselves from Marwa if not for the allegations that members of defunct CPC defected along with him”, Abdullahi said.
Speaking on behalf of the youths, Alhaji Mustafa Salihu, said the youths were also not with Marwa as they were not satisfied with his allegations of marginalization of defunct CPC members in the state APC.
Salihu said ”Marwa must apologize for wrongfully accusing APC leaders in the state (of) marginalizing him and his supporters.
“In fact, we gave Marwa one week to apologize for wrongly accusing our party leaders or else we will expose him”, Salihu said.
Hajiya Fatima Yawale and Mrs Rose Simon who spoke for women, said APC members should not worry about Marwa saying he left with the same “few people he came with the time he defected to defunct CPC from PDP”.
