With the demise of Pastor Timothy Obadare, Dr Samuel Adegbite and Chief Bayo Akinnola, Yorubaland has lost three illustrious sons who in their own ways contributed immensely to the development of Yorubaland, Nigeria and humanity. Otunba Gbenga Daniel,
“Dr Adegbite was a distinguished banker who nurtured different generation of bankers and worked assiduously for the development of the banking profession in Nigeria. He was well respected for his unblemished integrity and unrivalled professionalism which were apparent all through his sterling career.
Chief Bayo Akinnola on his part was a committed industrialist who sat on the board of several companies and promoted indigenous entrepreneurship. He midwifed several companies which contributed to employment generation and the growth of the country’s economy. He was committed to this cause till the very end and he exemplified the enterprise and
doggedness of the Yoruba people. He was also very committed to the promotion of our tradition and cultural heritage.
Pa Obadare was a fine example of the doggedness of the human spirit against all odds. He carried the gospel of Christ to different parts of the World and showed that a leader could rise above bigotry and discrimination in evangelism. Through his ministry many were restored and the lost and the forgotten were rehabilitated. He was a true soldier of Christ who died at his post.
Yorubaland and Nigeria will definitely miss these illustrious citizens who contributed their own quota to the development of their fatherland,” Otunba Daniel said in the statement released in Sagamu
