The former Military President, General Ibrahim Babangida has been described as a committed and patriotic leader whose concern for and contributions to the development of Nigeria are exceptional. Otunba Gbenga Daniel, former Governor of Ogun State, stated this while felicitating with the former President who celebrated his 71st birthday on August 17, 2012.
Otunba Daniel said over the years General Babangida has shown himself to be a detribalized leader and a first class patriot. He said the former President has worked and continues to work for the unity, progress and development of the country.
“General Babangida’s contributions to the development of our great country and belief in its corporate existence are self evident. It is noteworthy that General Babangida has always been there for the country especially at difficult moments. Our prayer is that the good Lord will grant him good health and more years in the land of the living so that he would continue to partner with other patriots in the ongoing efforts to transform the country into a nation of our dream.
On the joyous occasion of this unique milestone in the life of our former President, I join other Nigerians to felicitate with him and to wish him many happy returns.” Otunba Daniel said in the statement released in Sagamu.
