Three months and eighteen days after the suspension of its operations by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority(NCAA), DANA Air is set to resume operations today
This reportedly followed the completion of the audit of the airline and the lifting of the suspension by NCAA at the weekend.
The resumption of flight operations was confirmed by the Managing Director of DANA Air, Mr Jacky Hathiramani.
The operations of Dana Air was suspended by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority(NCAA) on October 6,2013 to enable it carry out operational audit of the airline as a precautionary measure.
However, the audit, according to the NCAA Director General, Captain Fola Akinkuotu in an earlier report said it has been concluded on December 13, 2013 but the report reveals some open items that have to be closed adding that the outcome of the audit concluded adjudged the exercise as good and healthy.
The DG described the exercise as painstaking, professional and transparent, involving the NCAA Flight Standard Group (FSG) in conjunction with their foreign partners.
He also said then that NCAA would meet with Dana Air management where the action plan towards closing the open items will be reviewed and agreed upon, stating that further consultations would thereafter take place to determine possible date of resumption of flight operations.
