CITAD Trains Journalists ,Activists on Social Media For Peace Advocacy

social media trainingA two day training workshop was held in Abuja on the use of social media tools for peace campaigns .The training which began Wednesday was organized by Kano -based CITAD . Journalists ,civil society activists among others were key participants at the forum.
The resource persons thought the participants how to use various tools for initiating ,sustaining and evaluating campaigns on social media platforms.
On Thursday for instance, the participants were taken through the various ways of using the google search tools for accessing data .
Participants were also thought how to monitor their campaigns using the various networks .They learnt about the need to observe and take note of the reach of their campaigns.It is also important, participants were told ,to ensure effective engagement with their audience on the social media.
Among the social media platforms used for campaigns among Nigerian s include 2go, facebook ,twitter, linkedin,google+,bbm,whatsApp, etc.Participants were thought the need to choose the appropriate platform and the language for maximum reach and effectiveness.
