Mr Haruna Okatahi, the Publicity Secretary, All Progressives Congress (APC) National Youth Caucus, has urged Christians to use the occasion of Christmas to pray for Nigeria to overcome its challenges.
Okatahi in a statement issued in Abuja on Saturday, also called for prayers for security personnel in the North East and other parts of the country as they battle to rid the nation of terrorism and violence.
He charged Nigerians to love one another and live in unity irrespective of their religious difference.
According to him, it is possible for Nigerians to live in peace if they learn to tolerate and appreciate each other, respect constituted authority, and be their brother’s keeper both in words and actions.
He stressed the need for wealthy Nigerians to extend love to the poor at this season, especially the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), who have suffered hardship as a result of activities of insurgents.
He wished all travellers a safe trip and a memorable holiday as they celebrate with their families and friends.
“ The APC Youth caucus heartily rejoice with all Nigerians, particularly our Christian brothers and sisters, on this year’s celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ.
“As we celebrate this year’s Christmas, I believe that it is very appropriate for us to reflect on the love of God aptly espoused in the teachings and lifestyle of Jesus Christ.
“There is no better time than now in our nation’s history to pray for divine guidance to get over our present challenges.” (NAN)
