Car dealer in court for allegedly defrauding client of N7.2m

 A 29-year-old car dealer, Taiwo Abiodun on Monday appeared before a Tinubu Magistrates’ Court, for allegedly defrauding his client of N7.2 million with pretext of selling him a vehicle.

defendant, who was charged with two-count of fraud and stealing, pleaded to offense.

The prosecutor, Insp. Samuel Ishola told the Court that Abiodun committed the offense on Nov. 22, 2019 at Ikeja Testing Ground, Ikeja, .

He said defendant collected N7.2 million from his client, one Mr Victor Okafor, with the pretext of selling him a Lexus PX 350 Jeep, 2010 model.

The prosecutor added defendant did bring the vehicle and had been unable to refund the money since 2019.

He said offense Contravened Sections 287 (10) and 314 (1) (a) of the Criminal Law of , 2015.

The Magistrate, Mr A.A. Paul, granted Abiodun bail in the sum of N500,000 with one surety in like sum.

He adjourned the case April 24 for hearing. ()
