Senator Aliyu Wamakko has said that President Muhammadu Buhari will sustain the ongoing laudable programmes and policies that are aimed at improving the living standard of Nigerians.
He spoke in Sabon Birni town at the flag off of the ongoing campaigns Monday.
“This can only be ensured with the reelection of President Muhammadu Buhari during the forthcoming general elections, as well as all candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC), at all levels .
“The President would sustain all ongoing efforts to improve security, bolster the nation’s economy, as well as empower youths, women and other vulnerable groups,” he said.
Wamakko also expressed his satisfaction with the mammoth crowd of supporters saying, “this unprecedented crowd should be translated into massive votes on the polling days.”
The gubernatorial candidate of the APC in the state, Alhaji Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto, promised to consolidate the colossal achievements of Senator Wamakko when he was the Governor of the state between 2007 and 2015.
He further promised to reconstruct the Isa to Sabon Birni road, a modern abattoir in Sabon Birni town as well as try to solve the perennial flooding menace in the area, if elected .
The Gubernatorial Candidate also admonished the people of the area not to allow the planned rigging by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state.
He urged women to stop applying apply henna on their hands, saying, “this is to enable the card reader to capture you, so as not to disenfranchise themselves.”
The Chairman of the State Campaign Council, Alhaji Muhammadu Maigari, its Director-General, Alhaji Yusuf Suleiman, the party state Chairman, Alhaji Isa Sadiq Achida and the Coordinator of the Sokoto East Senatorial District Campaign Committee, Senator Bello Jibril Gada, all promised that the electorate would massively cast their votes for its candidates, at all levels.
The Senator representing Sokoto East Senatorial District, Dr Ibrahim Abdullahi Gobir, former Chairman, Sabon Birni Local Government and a Chieftain of the APC, Alhaji Idris Mohammed Gobir and the Chairman of the party in the area, Alhaji Yawale Suleiman averred that PDP is dead in the area. “APC has already won, in sha Allahu.”
The highlight of the ceremony was the defection of no fewer than 10,000 members of the PDP to the APC.
