Seven bodies lay dead at the Asokoro District Hospital Abuja. These bodies in the morning, were the harvest of a night operation by soldiers on the orders of their superior whose identity is yet known.
The corpses were kept in two separate vehicles belonging to the Nigerians Police and the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corpse Ambulance which conveyed them to the hospital.
All the corpses were said to be former illegal occupants of an uncompleted twin duplex on Abba Kyari Close, Zone E Apo Legislative Quarters.
The property is believed to belong to a senior military officer whom other Keke NAPEP riders said may have ordered the execution because he was said to have earlier ordered the illegal occupants out of his property.
Enter the SSS:
However ,the Department of State Service ,better known as SSS said there was a joint operation by the Army and SSS at the property on a tip off that suspected terrorists reside in the uncompleted building.
Spokesperson for the SSS, Marilyn Orgar who revealed this to journalists as she conducted them round the property, said the team came under gun attack from the building as they approached it but responded leaving 12 injured on the side of the suspected Boko Haram.
Marilyn could not say whether there was any dead in the cross fire that may have ensued between the suspected Boko Haram members and men of the security agencies, maintaining that 12 suspects were injured even as some others ran into the bush.
The SSS paraded two young men whom they said gave the information about the presence of the threat to peace and security at the Apo District, warning them that they should be careful with the kingpin simply identified as Suleiman.
According to her , both men had volunteered that some cache of arms are burried at a location of the Gudu Muslim Cemetery, emphasising that only Suleiman knows the exact location of the arms.
Their names were simply given as Kaman Abdullahi and Adamu.
A New Twist:
While the circumstances that led to the death of the seven corpses remains controversial, the National Youth Council of Nigerian, (NYCN) Comrade Prince Adeoso, who spoke to journalists by the Morgue of the Asokoro Hospital said the killing was an extra-judicial execution of Nigerian youths.
Adeoso said the Apo-Seven were victims of the failure of the government to provide jobs for her youths who though are able bodied but could not get a job.
The killing was executed about 100 meters away from the official residence of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal.
Newsdiaryonline.com findings at the neighbourhood where the alleged extra judicial killing was executed revealed that twin duplex is illegally occupied by artisans who could not afford to rent a home for themselves.
They were said to be occupying the apartments on a staggered rent arrangement with the security man who collects N200 weekly from each occupant. The securityman was allegedly employed by the owner of the property where they were gunned down. But it appears the security man was just doing brisk business .
Though security agencies claimed that they came under enemy fire and they responded, eyewitnesses were sceptical about this claim. What is undeniable is that there were intensive shootings which resulted in the killing of seven people. No tags for this post.
