#TrackNigeria: The Buhari Media Organization (BMO) has congratulated Justice Ibrahim Tanko Mohammed on the confirmation of his appointment as the 21st substantive Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN)

It also described the appointment as well-deserved, based on his years of experience, landmark judicial decisions and unblemished character and spotless record on the Bench.

In a statement signed by its Chairman, Niyi Akinsiju and Secretary, Cassidy Madueke in Abuja, BMO charged the new CJN to set the agenda for the Judiciary to remain a truly independent and autonomous arm of the Government that will serve the nation as the last hope of the common man.

“Nigerians are eager for a reformed Judiciary where there would be no blemish of any kind; where the wheel of justice will grind speedily and laws interpreted without fear, favour or any form of bias.

“We recall a situation in the no -distant past where some elements in the Judiciary almost tarnished the hard-earned reputation of the institution but for the timely intervention of the executive arm of Government under the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari.

“We believe that Your Lordship’s appointment will signal a new dawn where the Judiciary will find it expedient, and in the nation’s interest, to cooperate with the two other arms of government in the overall agenda to move the country forward, particularly with regards to the fight against corruption which is central to the development of our nation.

“As you become the 21st Chief Justice of Nigeria and 16th indigenous CJN, BMO wishes you the best of luck in your new position, and may you continue to distinguish yourself as you have always done.  We pray that the Almighty God will grant you more wisdom and strength in your new assignment.

“Finally, we commend President Muhammadu Buhari for finding you worthy of being appointed to this exalted position,  and the Nigerian Senate under the distinguished leadership of the President of the Senate, Dr Ahmad Lawan for the smooth and speedy confirmation of Your Lordship’ s appointment,” BMO added.
