Mr Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, Deputy Governor of Bayelsa, has felicitated a former governor of the state and Senator representing Bayelsa West Senatorial District, Seriake Dickson, on his 56th birthday.
Ewhrudjakpo, in a congratulatory message issued by his Senior Special Assistant on Media, Mr Doubara Atasi, on Friday, expressed gratitude to God for giving the former governor good health and grace to serve his people and the nation with utmost dedication and patriotism.
The deputy governor described the lawmaker as a great patriot and leader, who believes in equity, fairness and justice, noting that his contributions at the Senate speak volume of his love for the Niger Delta and the country at large.
According to him, Dickson means so much to the government and people of Bayelsa in terms of the indelible leadership landmarks in infrastructural development, which today stand out as a reference point in the history of the state.
He noted that the antecedents of Dickson as a governor provided a solid ground for the present administration to build upon all sectors of the state, including human capital development.
While wishing the lawmaker long life in good health, Ewhrudjakpo prayed God to give him more wisdom, courage and passion to promote the common good.
“Your Excellency, your riveting antecedents provide a solid ground for us, your leadership offspring to build our own stewardship, which puts the people at centerpiece of governance.
“We are very proud to identify with you and your enduring contributions to the uplift of Bayelsa State in your groundbreaking eight years epoch as governor and now as distinguished Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
“We are indeed inspired by your intimidating legacy of public service and earnestly crave and pray that the Lord God Almighty imbibe in us the same crusading zeal, courage, determination and hunger for the development of our state.
“It is my thoughtful prayer, on this special day, that the Lord God Almighty, who had graciously opened unto you the doors of service to our people, continue to protect you and your dear family,” he said. (NAN)
