Following the killing of a senior lecturer with the Department Of Physiology ,Kaduna State
University, Dr. Abubakar Shehu and two others along Kaduna-Birnin Gwari road by Armed
robbers , Academic Staff Union of University { ASUU} Kaduna State Chapter has called on Kaduna state Government to team up with security agencies to set up a permanent military/police presence along the road.ASUU said Kaduna-Birnin Gwari road has now become to death trap.

In a press release signed by the Chairman Dr. Sadiq Abubakar Abdu and his Secretary Mallam Tukur Abdulkdir respectively , the killings along Kaduna-Birnin Gwari and country at large have become a recurrent decimal and in view of this the ASUU called on the Kaduna State government to synergize with security agencies to establish a permanent military and police presence on the road.

The Statement said it is very disheartening to note that even after the killing of Dr. Abubakar and two other passengers on that fateful day, there has been no single police or military checkpoint along the road apart from the one in Birnin Gwari town.
ASUU also noted with utter shock and disbelief the frightening and dangerous rates of unemployment especially among graduates in the country which led to the loss of about nineteen lives at various recruitment centres organized by the immigration service describing the refusal of the Federal government to punish the Controller General of theS Immigration service as well as the Minister of Interior as unfortunate.

However ASUU noted with relief the decision of the Federal Government to authorize the Federal civil service commission to conduct a fresh recruitement exercise with full of transparency and fairness into the Immigration Service .
