Assembly urges Kano State Govt. to establish nursing school in Tsanyawa LGA



 

The State House of Assembly has urged the State Government to establish a nursing school in Tsanyawa Local Government Area (LGA) of the state.

This followed the adoption of a motion by Mr Garba Gwarmai (APC-Kunchi/Tsanyawa) during Tuesday’s plenary, presided by Speaker Hamisu Chidari.

 

Presenting the motion, Gwarmai said the of the school would increase youth enrolment in high institutions in rural areas in the state.

According to him, the school when established will contribute towards boosting the healthcare sector in the state.

“We have shortage of health workers in rural areas; the of the school will help produce new health workers by training our children.

“In most , candidates seeking admission into school of nursing have to as far as state to get enroled.

 

“Therefore, I find it necessary to call on the government to look into the issue by establishing a nursing school in the area,” he said.

The lawmakers unanimously adopted the motion after deliberation.

 

Similarly, the house directed its Committee on Rural Development to investigate the abandonment of electrification project in Bunkure LGA of the state.

This followed the adoption of a motion by Mr Muhammad Uba (APC-Bunkure).(NAN)
