Earlier, the Prosecutor, Mrs Ijeoma Ukagha, said that the case was reported by Usman Abdulahi of Jabi Daki Biyu village, Abuja, at the Life Camp Police Station on June 14.

Ukagha told the court that on the same date at about 1:02 a.m., John and two others now at large formed a criminal intention and trespassed into the complainant’s site.

The prosecutor said that John criminally broke into Abdullahi’s room and stole one handbag containing valuables worth N30,000 and iron rods valued at N10,000.

She added that Abdullahi reported the matter for proper investigation which led to the arrest of John.

She said that John had admitted committing the offences during police investigation and the stolen handbag was recovered from him, noting that the offences contravened sections 79, 348, 349 and 288 of the Penal Code. (NAN)
