The All Progressives Congress,APC has named Mr Bisi Akande as its interim national chairman.Akande hitherto served as the national chairman of the Action Congress of Nigeria,ACN one of the pillars behind the merger moves that led to the formation of APC.
Also,Mr Tijani Tumsa, has been named as the interim national secretary of APC .He was the national secretary of ANPP before his latest appoint.
Reports said former Governor of Borno State ,Senator Ali Modu –Sheriff announced the names of the interim officials today at a press conference in Abuja.Modu- sheriff said the appointment of Akande was a consensus decision.
By this announcement however, the party has met a major requirements for registration as a political party by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.The APC had of late been rocked by seeming power struggles over the sharing of positions.
