The conferment of the Grand commander of the order of Niger, GCON, on founder of Globacom, Dr Michael Adenuga jnr, has been described as a well deserved honour which will serve as wakeup call and incentive to other Nigerians in private enterprises. Former Governor of Ogun State, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, made the remark while reacting to the honour conferred on Dr Adenuga by the Federal Government.
“There is no doubt that Dr Adenuga is a trail blazer who has contributed immensely to the growth of private enterprise in the country. He is an icon who has consistently shown his belief and support for the Nigerian economy. He represents the best of indigenous entrepreneurs who have contributed immensely to the growth and development of corporate Nigeria. His business enterprises have given jobs to many Nigerians while they continue to provide invaluable services to people of all races in Nigeria and other countries. The honour will no doubt spur the businessman to greater accomplishments and consolidate his service to industrial development and growth of Nigeria.
