Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) will hold its 2014 Annual General Meeting on 17th February in Kaduna with a view to electing new officials that will run its affairs.
According to ACF, the tenure of the present leadership of the Board of Trustees(BOT.) and that of the National Executive Council( NEC) will end on that date.
Addressing the newsmen in Kaduna today (Wednesday) Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Hajiya Fati Ibrahim said Vice President Namadi Sambo is expected to inaugurate the new elected leadership of the group scheduled for 18th February, 2014.
” The Annual General Assembly will at its meeting on 17th February, 2014, rectify the list of those elected. The tenure of the elected leaders of the BOT runs from February 2014 to February 2020. While those of the NEC will run from February 2014 to February 2017 as provided in the ACF constitution.
” In the case of NEC, officers on completion of their first tenure of the three years can seek re-election for a second term only. The inauguration of the new leadership has been scheduled to take place on Tuesday 28 February,2014 under chairmanship of former Head of state Yakubu Gawon,” she said.
Hajiya Fati listed names of people expected at the inauguration ceremony to include Senate President David Mark, Speaker Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, former heads of States, former chief Justices of Nigeria, former Senate presidents and Speakers.
Others inlcude Northern Governors Forum, Northern Senators, religious and ethnic leaders among others.
The event, she added will include a public lecture on the topic ” Northern Nigeria Economy Free of Oil Revenue” .
