In a statement , ACF National Publicity Secretary, Muhammad Ibrahim Biu stated that the attack on the Buni Yadi Government College in Yobe State on Tuesday 25th February, 2014 in the middle of the night by the Boko Haram insurgents was most cruel and gruesome.
“The innocent students were massacred in their sleep by the insurgents for no just cause. These attacks on schools and villages in the North East Zone have been unabated despite the state of emergency imposed on some states of the zone and the heavy deployment of security operatives in the states”.
“This action of the insurgents in killing innocent souls was most cruel and against the tenets of Islamic religion for which they claim to be fighting. Killing and destroying valuable properties is certainly not the best way to settle grievances or make people to accept views contrary to their belief”.
The ACF appealed to the insurgents to embrace the Federal Government’s call for dialogue as the best option to acts of terrorism.
“ACF extend its condolence to the Government and people of Yobe State and the bereaved families over the massacre of 45 innocent students on Federal Government College, Buni Yadi”.
ACF also called on the Federal Government to as a matter of urgency intensify and provide adequate security within the states of Borno, Yobe, Adamawa and other parts of the North to checkmate the violent activities of the insurgents.
