2 KATSINA DELEGATES VISIT GEN BUHARI 2 (1)President -Elect, Muhammadu Buhari ,has  reiterated his resolve to be fair and just to all Nigerians irrespective of their religious and political leanings.

Gen. Buhari who  made this point  when a delegation from his home state of Katsina paid him a solidarity visit on Saturday at  the All Progressive Congress Presidential Campaign Council (APCPCO) headquarters in Abuja over his victory at the poll, also assured that his administration would not condone injustice in the polity.

Lamenting the level of poverty and deprivation among Nigerians, Buhari  explained that his resolve to challenge the outcome of the Presidential elections in 2003, 2007 and 2011  in the law courts was borne out of his commitment to ensure the entrenchment of the rule of law in the polity.

He said such act as well as the effort by those who ensured the formation and success of the APC at the just concluded Presidential poll, would be a reference point by future generations of Nigerians yearning for justice and equity and progress in the country.

“I will never be part of any injustice in the country. There shall be justice in the land. We would strive to rescue our people who are suffering from injustice over the years. We will ensure that there is peace and security in the country. We will fight corruption and eliminate ignorance, poverty and illiteracy in the land. These are the causes of tribalism and divisiveness among Nigerians.”  Said the President-Elect who spoke in Hausa to the delegation compromising the clerics, traditional rulers, businessman and politicians.

He asserted that he would do all within his powers, to fix the multifaceted problems confronting the country currently, adding that it was unfortunate that there is practically nothing on ground that could positively affect the wellbeing of Nigerians in spite of the huge sum of monies which the country has made s from oil proceeds in the past sixteen years.

Buhari who noted that oil revenues earned by Nigeria in the past sixteen years, was more than what the country earned since the  amalgamation of Northern and Southern Nigeria, in 1914, pointed at the state of disrepair in the railways, airways and the shipping lines to buttress his assertions.

Thanking all those who came all the way from Katsina state to felicitate with him, Buhari who recalled with fond memories his formative years in the primary, and secondary schools in Katsina,  said he would surely live up to their expectations in ensuring good governance in the polity.

The chairman of the katsina chapter of the All progressive congress (APC), Dr Mustapha Inuwa who was  one of those that spoke on behalf of the delegation expressed gratitude to Allah over the victory of Buhari in the recently concluded presidential poll.

Saying all the people of katsina identify with Buhari’s aspirations to offer good governance in the polity, he said the mere fact that the exchange rate of the naira dollar as fallen since the emergence of Buhari underlines the fact that an era of prosperity has just began for Nigerians.

He added: “For us from Katsina, we assure you that we would be good followers; we would pray for you to succeed ; we would not allow you victory at the poll get into our heads; we would continue to be law abiding. We pray that you get the team that will work with you to deliver the goods.”

Among dignitaries on the entourage were the former governor of katsina state, Alhaji Saidu Barda, the former speaker of old Kaduna state, Alhaji Mamman Dan Musa.
