#TrackNigeria: Alhaji Abdu Ringo, Chairman, the All Progressives Congress (APC), Zaria Local Government Area of Kaduna State on Saturday lauded the council for awarding over N1.1 billion developmental projects across the area.
He made the commendation during the presentation of certificates to contractors awarded infrastructure projects in Tukur-Tukur ward of the area.
Ringo, who was represented by his Vice, Alhaji Buhari Musa-Bizara, also praised the council chairman, Alhaji Aliyu Idris-Ibrahim for spreading the projects across all the 13 political units depending on areas of needs.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that community leaders in each unit were mobilised by the council to monitor the execution of the projects, to ensure compliance to set standards.
The projects are: drilling of boreholes and repairs of some faulty ones, fencing of grave yards, construction of blocks of classrooms in primary schools, construction of drainage, channels, culverts and electrification, among others.
He said: “The council under the leadership of Engineer Aliyu Idris-Ibrahim deserves special commendation, in view of the laudable achievements he has so far recorded.
“I am glad to state that, this is the first of its kind in the history of Zaria Local Government Area, where the council awarded contracted worth N 1.1 billion, since 1999.
“If we want these projects to continue, we must support continuity of APC administration at all levels to gain more dividends of democracy.
“I must emphasise that a vote for APC is a vote to salvage the entire nation, therefore, we must not allow some people to deceive us.
“We must collectively work toward the success of APC at all levels.”
Idris-Ibrahim appealed to benefiting communities to monitor the projects in their respective areas and report to the council anything done in a substandard manner.
The council boss called on electorate to massively vote for President Muhammadu Buhari and APC in the forthcoming general elections, saying that, “Buhari’s victory is for all Nigerians.“
“Buhari is a leader whose desire is to bring positive change to Nigeria, therefore, we have to collectively give him block votes to enable him actualise his dream.
“We should also endeavour to give Gov. Nasiru El-Rufa’i block votes as well as all other flag bearers of APC at all levels.
“Make sure that you give all the candidates equal votes, if you give Buhari bulk votes, please ensure that all other contestants get similar number of votes.”
The chairman advised the people to be peaceful before, during and after the general elections to facilitate hitch-free polls.
The chairman assured them that the projects being awarded were just the beginning of many good things to come, “but only if you stand firm to give APC a second chance.”
Responding, the community leaders commended council chairman for fulfilling his campaign promises and promised to re-elect Buhari, whom they described as honest, promising and hope for the Nigerian masses. (NAN)
