But an eyewitness, Mr. Kabosho Duniyo said that the incident happened when some youth protested the arrest of six members of vigilante group in the area by the soldiers for
alleged armed robbery.
According to the eyewitness, a day to the incident, soldiers in the area received a distress call on Wednesday night from a motorist who claimed to have been robbed in Manchok.
He said the prompt response to the call led to the arrest of six suspects who were later taken to the paramount Chief of the community for amicable resolution of the matter.
But the youth were said to have protested against the arrest, and in self defence, the soldiers fired gun shots and injured these persons.
Commenting on the issue, the Chairman of Kaura local government, Mr. Kumai Badu said the situation was later under control while the injured persons were taken to a health facility to receive treatment in Kagoro town
