4 docked over alleged street fighting, reckless driving

The police in Lagos on Thursday arraigned four men over alleged street fighting, reckless and dangerous driving.
The defendants, John Hasinu 31; Segun Hasinu, 27; Aina Sejiro, 27, and Monday Isalu, 29, whose addresses were not provided, were charged before a Badagry Chief Magistrates’ Court.
They, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges of street fighting and reckless driving.

The Prosecutor, ASP Akpan Nkem, told the court that the defendants committed the offences on Jan. 1, at about 9p.m at Isalu Ajara, Badagry area of Lagos.
Nkem alleged that the defendants did engage in public fight on the street of Isalu.
He said one of the defendants, Segun Hasinu, being a driver of one unregistered Toyota Camry Saloon car, drove in a reckless and dangerous manner without regards and consideration for other road users.

The prosecutor said the offences contravened Section 54 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015 and Section 19 of the state Road Traffic law of 2011.
The Chief Magistrate, Mr Fadahunsi Adefisoye, granted the defendants bail in the sum of N100,000 each, with two sureties each in like sum.
He adjourned the case until Jan. 28, for hearing. (NAN)
