The Kaduna Central Senatorial Zone flag-bearer of the All Progressives Congress(APC), Malam Uba Sani has declared that the Governor Nasir Elrufai team would deliver Kaduna for Buhari in the 2019 general elections.

Malam Uba, who made the declaration at the flag-off of his campaign in Giwa Local Government area on Monday expressed optimism that with the sense of commitment exhibited by the APC 2019 Campaign Council members, the party was set to spring surprises.

It would be recalled that the Kaduna Central Senatorial Zone broke records with the largest campaign structure to work for the return of President Buhari and Governor Elrufai in 2019.

The Zone 2 Senatorial candidate has in the last couple of weeks commissioned campaign offices in highly populated areas of Kaduna like Rigasa area of Zone 2.

Just before then he reportedly held series of periodic meetings with market association leaders, the Muslim and Christian clergy, the monarchy and destitutes – including the Albino Foundation in Zone 2.

Speakers at the flag-off  in Giwa Local Government, including retired General Sani Sale, stressed the need for the campaign groups to step up efforts in mobilizing for votes both in Kaduna Central and other parts of the State.

The speakers, including executives of the APC and women groups representatives and stakeholders in the State, charged the campaign council members to redouble efforts in getting majority of  grassroots voters, especially women in favor of Malam Uba’s candidature in Zone 2.

A cross-swction of respondents at the event described the Giwa flag-off as strategically important because Uba Sani chose the grassroots where majority of poor voters reside, for the event and not the city centre with its mainly elite population who seldom cast their votes during election times.

Observers described the event as a turning point in the Zone 2 electioneering campaigns for 2019, arguing that Malam Uba Sani has sustained the tempo of his electoral visibility since November the 18th, when INEC blew the whistle for campaign activities.
