An aspirant for the governorship of Kaduna state on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and former minister of the Federal Capital Territory,Malam Nasir Ahmed El-Rufa’i has said that winning Kaduna state by the APC in 2015 was an easy game as the power of incumbency would not be of help to the ruling PDP during election.
El-Rufa’i who spoke on Thursday at the APC Secretariat in Kaduna shortly after he presented cars to the party’s headquarters ahead of political campaigns in 2015,alleged that the PDP had not won the previous election in Kaduna state while the presence of Vice President Namadi Sambo would not constitute any threat to the opposition because he could not win election for the PDP in his locality in Kaduna.
The former minister who expressed sadness that Kaduna had been turned into a killing field where gunmen often attacked Southern Kaduna and killed many,accused the state government of insensitivity to the plight of victims of the attack and promised to restore the sanctity and dignity of human life when elected as governor in 2015. He said APC members from across the state should unite and challenge the PDP ,pointing out that whoever emerged as the flag bearer of the party in 2015 be supported in the one this task of uprooting the PDP controlled government in the state.
Meanwhile at a rally in Kaduna on Thursday ,the 151 groups had declared their supports for President Goodluck Jonathan and Namadi Sambo,calling on the people of Kaduna to rally round Governor Mukhtar Ramalan Yero and Ambassador Nuhu Audu Bajoga come 2015 .
At the mammoth gathering inside the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua indoor hall,Murtala Square, Kaduna that was coordinated by former Commissioner for Youth and Sport in Kaduna State, Honourable Abdulhazeez Mohammed, the political support groups said there would be no vacancy for the opposition in Sir Kashim Ibrahim House Kaduna and the Aso Rock Villa in 2015″
The groups were among others,Kungiya Marokan PDP (Praise Singers), Yero project, Southern Kaduna winning All (SOKWINA) forum, Kaduna jobless Association, G23Alliance and Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) etc.
Chairman of the occasion ,Senator Musa Bello and coordinator of the coalition ,Alhaji Muhammed said the achievements of President Jonathan and Governor Yero were enormous,and called on the groups to be given them second chance so as to consolidate on their achievements,
He said “it is on record that President Jonathan and Governor Yero have done well in spite of the security challenges and it will be proper to give them another chance to consolidate on the good works they have started.”
In his good will message, Kaduna State Speaker of the House of Assembly, Shehu Tahir called on the mammoth crowd that attended the rally to give the required support to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and all their candidates in the forth coming general elections.
PDP ,according to him,has delivered on its promises to the electorates in the past 15 year’s inspite of the challenges and will not fail in providing good governance to the good people of Kaduna State and Nigeria at large.
