1m Man March for Buhari in Minna records low turnout

#TrackNigeria – Less than 2000 people showed up for the one million man march for President Buhari organized on Thursday by the Buhari Support Organization in Niger state.

Although the turnout did not meet the expectation of the organizers, they however expressed satisfaction over the turnout. 

Speaking to newsmen after the march, the Chairman of the Buhari Support Organization in Niger, Mallam Umar Shuiabu claimed the march recorded one million people. 

“You know it was a very long distance, a lot of people dropped on the way while others showed solidarity with us from their houses. We were up to one million.”

Shuaibu refused to give the total number of the people who turned out insisting that the march was successful. 

“The march was organized to garner support for Buhari.we have never had a government that has fulfilled its campaign promises like the Buhari administration.

“We did not induce anyone with money to come out to march. The people you saw during the march joined because of their love for the President. We do not rent crowd. People came here on their own. “

The march started at the Trade fair complex in Sango, Minna at 10 am and the participants marched to the Government House and rounded up at the Buhari campaign office opposite the old state secretariat. 

The Reporter who was in the march althrough noted that the march began with less than 100 people and while some people joined in during the progression, the number did not get to one million as claimed by the Chairman of the group. 

The Reporter noted that the crowd had mostly youths while most of the APC Chieftains were absent during the march. 

Participants from the 25 local government areas of Niger state were expected but there was no representation from over 20 local government areas as only the banners of Bosso and Chachanga local government areas were seen floating.
