The Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria in line with the directive of the National secretariat and in accordance to the December 18 2009 resolution of the National Executive council of PENGASSAN picketed the offices of Mobil Producing Unlimited in Lagos, Eket and Onne.The aim is to express our displeasure and discontent over the victimization and unfair labour practices in the company . Chief among which is the unprocedural sack of 205 members of the contract staff branch of pengassan in Mobil. Among those sacked are the union leaders at the branch and chapters. Efforts made to resolve the matter amicably at the federal ministry of labour and productivity Abuja did not yield any result as the management of Mobil refused to toe the line of peace. It is hoped that the Federal government and the NNPC will call the management of mobil to order to avoid the unnecessary escalation of the industrial action in the interest of industrial peace and harmony.
